come with me to the gym and i will take you DOWN!!!

despite being tired a little grumpy, and worrisome about this weeks' not so great check i rocked the gym! sure i wasn't lifting as heavy as some of the guys there but i was doing more then most women would even think of doing. after 7 minutes warming up on the crossramp i went straight for a kettlebell workout. did lots of variations of swings, squats, renegade lunges, and one arm rows. then i hit the back row machine. i saw some shoulder popping in that mirror some impressive stuff for a little girl! then i went to the barbell. i did deadlifts then followed with 2 sets of backrows overhand and underhand grip and completed each set with some bicep curls. i used 36lb fixed barbell. btw i did a mini circuit with most of these exercises about 10 reps each and 2 either you can call them circuits or call them giant super sets.

next to the dummies. i did chest press with a set of push ups then chest flies with a set of push ups using 12.5lbs. then some shoulder work with the same weight shoulder press with rear shoulder lifts. almost like bringing the arm straight back its hard to explain but its a move cathe has done in her workouts. hits the rear delts. then i did a 2 sets of rear delt flies and lying shoulder work with 5lbs.did another 2sets of one arm rows with 20lb alternating with push ups again.

i moved back to some machines. i went light on upright chest flyes at about 40lbs then did 2 sets of lat pulldowns at about 60lbs. then went for a nice stretch just going with the flow of what felt good using the foam roller.

what i saw in the mirror was impressive. sure i have a little "belly" from loose skin mostly but i saw muscles working and saw strength in the legs during kettlebell swings i saw a strong woman. not a cover model for fashion, not even a fitness model in the term we come to know. but a fitness model in that i take care of myself i want to increase strength and i want more out of quality of life then complaining about my back or my shoulder. i don't want to be tired all the time i don't want to be depressed. it makes me a horrible mother and wife, but when i go to the gym i am empowered and that makes me a better mother and wife.

in way that gal at work as motivated me, not to lose weight or "tone up" but to work it hard for me to increase in strength so that the next time she speaks i can tell her "if you want to come to the gym with me i will take you DOWN!!!".
